Lesson Topic
Density determination
Lesson Outline
Work a lab experiment which is used to determine the density of a few solid objects, like wood blocks of varying mass. State the formula to be used and record the mass and volume of the solids to the nearest 0.01 units. Determine the density of water by measuring a mass of water properly, and recording the volume in ml using a graduated cylinder. Record the density of the water. From experience, will the wood block sink or float? Compare the density of the block to that of water, and arrive at a hypothesis regarding floating and density. Test the hypothesis using a larger, different block of wood and present a conclusion.

Lesson Comments
Measured results were excellent. The density of water was determined to be 1 g/ml and both blocks exhibited identity less than one. Conclusion was arrived at.
