Persian Empire: Characteristics, achievements, and decline. Persians had a 5-tier system government, Cyrus the Great was benevolent with countries/regions that he conquered. Persian women had numerous rights equal to men, underground ice caves were used to store food. Persian military was effective due to travel and uniforms that involved lighter weight. Hanging gardens/botanical landscapes were a significant feature n Persian culture along with elaborate rugs. End of Persian Empire due to defeat/takeover by Alexander the Great (Macedonia)
