International Dot Day
Lesson Outline
Today, September 15, is International Dot Day! We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and created a composition full of wonderfully designed dots. I showed Libby an example of dots I had created with different designs, colors, and circle stencils. I had different sizes of circle stencils for Libby to trace, and she drew, colored, and painted designs within the circles/dots. She discovered splatter painting and really made some lovely color combinations of purple and teal green. Then we cut the circles out and arranged them into several pleasing compositions. Libby was joyful and successful in her creating!
