To begin, Teddy used addition flashcards to review the basic addition facts 0 through 5. Then, we reviewed doubles facts from yesterday's lesson before beginning our lesson on using doubles to help add near doubles. Using connecting cubes to model near-doubles problems, Teddy broke apart the larger addend to make a doubles plus one, helping him to find the sums.
