Lesson Topic
Drawing Geometric Forms
Lesson Outline
Using drawing paper on a drawing board and pencil, each student began to draw the variety of white geometric shapes: spheres, cones, squares, and rectangles displayed in a still life. The purpose of this drawing exercise is to use lines to create geometric shapes that are in proportion and in perspective and then to shade the shapes to become three-dimensional forms. The art elements incorporated here are line, shape, volume/mass, values, texture, positive and negative space, depth, perspective, and light.

Lesson Comments
I realize this concept was new to PJ, and every time I tried to explain how to measure the angles and proportion, he was resistant to my help.
