Patrick made a fishing rod craft (short i as in fish) to use to catch magnetic fish containing his short i spelling words. He broke them apart by reading the beginning digraph and blending it together with the short i word family. After catching them, he used each word in a sentence, and grouped them together according to their word family. Please practice these at home for homework. He practiced reading his 6 new sight words of this week. We played "In a Flash" where we time him identifying his sight words as quickly as possible. Each time, he wants to beat his best time. He is very motivated by it, and enjoys this fast paced game!
