Today Maya practiced her 9x tables and took a practice drill. At this point she can skip count by verbalizing the multiples of 9. Maya practiced rounding numbers and added a new skill- estimating sums. She understood this skill, as we looked at base 10 blocks to demonstrate how it works. Maya knows we estimate to check to see if a calculation is reasonable or if an exact answer is not needed. Maya continued in her FF program. As per our conversation this afternoon, I will not be writing many updates pertaining to her FF program since I will be sending out a weekly update each Saturday.
