I read "I'm Gonna Like Me". Patrick and I made a poster about things he liked about himself. Patrick enjoyed a snack with his friends.
After snack I assessed Patrick's mastery of the Dolch Pre-Primer Sight Words and administered a running record. I will do another running record to determine his reading level.
Patrick and I had a great first day! We spent the majority or our session getting to know each other. I shared a powerpoint to introduce myself and asked Patrick a few questions with a "Getting to Know You Survey". I informally assessed Patrick's math skills with a first grade math benchmark test. Patrick successfully ordered numbers from least to greatest and counted fluently numbers 1 - 15. Based on the assessment Patrick and I will focus on creating a strong base-10 foundation, while working on adding and subtracting.
