Maya and I reviewed the life of Ruby Bridges, and began illustrating a poster/letter to Ruby Bridges. We discovered her website and decided Maya would write her a letter. During our session an opportunity arose for her to speak with another teacher who is French. She practiced her conversational skills in French, and then expressed a strong interest in learning about France. We conducted internet research on France using several websites and my pictures of Paris from 2012, and she began writing and illustrating a book on France.
