Today I gave Patrick the choice to start with reading or math, he surprisingly chose reading:) Last week we read On My Way to School from Wonders. We reread the story to focus on fluency (reading like talking). Patrick read much smoother. We recorded him and then listened to a few pages. Next, I asked Patrick to predict the sequence of a new story Level D Bats. He was reluctant, but predicted the order correctly! He seemed to be very proud of himself. We read the story together alternating pages. He read fairly fluently and was successful with decoding.
