Lesson Outline
Today Maya performed a practice drill for the multiplication tables. These were random 0-12X tables. This is more challenging for Maya, and she is doing great. She should continue to practice her tables at home, until they all become committed to memory. Maya began a new unit on fractions. She explored fraction concepts through identifying regions that have been divided into equal-sized parts. She also divided regions into equal-sized parts. Maya learned new vocabulary and we will continue to reinforce these terms throughout Topic 12. In FF Maya continued her program and beat her high score in Dog Bones. In LB, Maya explored opening sentences (hooks) that writers often use to get their audience/readers interested. She looked at many examples of hooks that used onomatopoeia, questions, similes, and metaphors. We discussed these examples in order to begin her writing piece. Great work this week, Miss Maya!
