Lesson Outline
Will explored the lives of the three most famous Italian artists of the Renaissance. He constructed a chart to outline the life events, ideas, interests, and masterpieces created by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael. Through this session we viewed mini-biographies, and examined several of the most famous sculptures and paintings of the Italian Renaissance. We discussed the implications for advances in medicine, architecture, art, and the sciences as a result of these individuals imaginative works (i.e. da Vinci's dissection of corpses, fascination with muscles and bones, sketches of the human body=advances in understanding of anatomy and physiology). We also reviewed the causes and implications of the Renaissance as a whole.
