Step 3.5 Welded sounds and multisyllabic words
Lesson Outline
Today Patrick and I finished the lesson started on Weds. Patrick did the quick drill in reverse, naming and pointing to all the sounds on the board including digraphs and welded sounds. Then we did written dictation on the white board. He recorded five sounds and five real words, scooping the syllables. He chose to do his sentence dictation using magnetic letters on the white board. After that he read a short passage about two people going on a trip and was able to answer several questions about the story. We finished the session with a listening comprehension story of his choosing. He chose a story on Ice Fishing, which I read aloud to him, and then he told me as much as he could remember about the story. He did a great job and seemed to enjoy this last part of the lesson the most.

Lesson Comments
Patrick seems tired coming right from his football camp. Next week he doesn't have the camp so it will be nice to compare his energy level.
