Today Kayla completed a spelling lesson for words which create pronunciation difficulties. She also completed a summation exercise proofreading a passage for specific words. We then read the Purdue Owl revisions document to help her understand the steps of the revision process. We each independently proofread her essay on Overcoming Fatigue. Using our revisions and the Purdue Owl document, we compiled a list of specific revision steps she must attend to for her writing. I also shared my own list specific to my writing needs. For the remainder of the session, Kayla used the thesaurus to select synonyms for words she overused in the essay. In doing so she was able to improve the flow and sound of her essay.
