Assessment/Introduction to Industrial Revolution
Lesson Outline
Will used a part of this session to complete his Chapter 18 Assessment on the French Revolution and Napoleon. We then previewed the next chapter on the European Industrial Revolution. Will explored UNESCO World Heritage Sites in England related to and dating to the Industrial Revolution, including the Derwent Valley Mills, Ironbridge Gorge, and the Blaevenon Industrial Landscape. We discussed how England, Scotland, and Ireland were changed forever by the Industrial Revolution (migration, political and social policies, technological advances). Additionally, we discussed the profound changes to the world as we shifted from a 11,000-year span of an agricultural-based society to an industrialized society.
