Today was Anelise's first piano lesson with me! What a sweet little musician! We worked on left hand vs. right hand. We traced her little hands and numbered the fingers 1 through 5. We played a game to remember the finger numbers. Then we began to play those finger numbers on the piano. Finding "Middle C" on the piano and noticing the patterns of the black keys and the white keys was a primary focus today. We began her first solo today "Au Claire De La Lune", a simple folksong about the moon. We ended our lesson with a teacher-student duet. I accompanied her while I sung finger numbers to her. She mimicked my voice by playing those finger numbers with great success!
