Becca and I spent this time together getting to know each other. We practiced identifying letters and sounds visually and verbally. In addition, Becca and I looked at rhyming word cards and when given two options she was able to pick out the word that rhymes. For example, I would ask Becca" Does mat rhyme with rat or boy?" Then, Becca and I read a book about animals where she would point to the animal for example "The Sheep" as I would read the story. In addition, she would recite the sound that specific animal makes. Finally, Becca and I read her favorite story "Mickey's Birthday."
