Becca and I began our session by coloring a picture of fish. We completed the letter F today, what sound F makes, and words that being with F. Then, we listened to a story called "The Ocean" on Razkids.com. After listening to it a few times through Becca was able to recall words from the story. Today I tried introducing the days of the week to Becca. I sang the "Days of the Week" song to her and we discussed that today is Wednesday. I plan on adding this to our morning routine to get Becca familiar with the days of the week. She did an excellent job counting to ten today! She was able to tell me which number comes next when counting to ten. Becca and I completed a worksheet on the number 2 as well. I introduced the story of Hansel and Gretel to Becca today. We read a short sight word reader on the story with an emphasis on the sight words a, the, see, I, look. Then, Becca watched a video of the story of Hansel and Gretel on the iPad. We will continue to work on the recall of the story. Becca completed two more pages in her "All About Me" mini book. Finally, Becca used the starfall application on the iPad to complete phonic activities. Becca seemed tired today. It was hard for her to stay focused on tasks and was not her energetic self. She completely lost focus around 11am and seemed to be done for the day. During this time I used the starfall application on the iPad to keep her engaged and working.
