Lesson Outline
During our session Becca and I completed a unit on the letter F. First, we colored a picture of fish. Becca completed a capital and lowercase sorter on the letter F. Then, she completed an emergent reader called "Let's Learn the Letter Ff" where she cut, colored, and glued objects that began with the letter F into the reader. In addition, she traced words that began with F with hand over hand assistance. Becca is improving with the use of scissors and seems to be getting a better feel for opening and closing the scissors. In addition, she is also improving her coloring skills by coloring the object instead of the entire paper. Becca completed a beginning F sound sorter where she cut out pictures and glued the pictures onto the sorter that began with the letter F. Becca and I read a story on Hickory, Dickory, Dock and she assembled a picture of a mouse. We cut out shapes to create the mouse and Becca identified each shape as we assembled the mouse. We hung this up on Becca's wall. Finally, Becca completed a sorter on the -at sound. She glued pictures that belonged in the -at word family and into the correct box on the sorter. Becca had a great day! She was on task and focused, therefore we were able to complete a lot of work.
