Lesson Outline
Becca and I began our session by reviewing beginning, middle, and end sounds. First, we reviewed beginning sounds and Becca matched each letter to the picture with the same beginning sound. For example, F matches the picture of a fish. Next, Becca completed a worksheet on middle sounds cutting out the letters that belong to each picture to create the middle sound. Then, Becca and I completed an activity on short I with the end sounds it/in. Becca cut and glued the correct picture to the correct ending sound. She did a great job with these activities. In addition, she is becoming very familiar with the use of scissors and does not need as much assistance when cutting. During our session, I introduced Becca to alphabet letters to assist her with handwriting. She runs her pointer finger along the letter following the correct direction in order for Becca to learn how to write the letters of the alphabet. Then, we practiced tracing the letters A and B. During math, Becca completed a cut and paste worksheet on the number four. In addition, she reviewed counting by completing an activity where Becca counted pictures of animals and matched the correct number to each animal. Finally, Becca completed a worksheet on counting cupcakes and matching the correct number to each box of cupcakes. We ended our session by tracing letters with her finger using a "Princess Letter Tracing Book." We will continue with this tomorrow during our session.
