Lesson Topic
Probability – formalizing the mathematics
Lesson Outline
We're finally embarking on a more structured approach to the concept of Probability. Today we started with first principles (that we had touched upon in the past few lessons), such as what does a probability of 1 or 0 signify and how are they expressed, and what might examples of independent and dependent events be. We finished class with a TED talk given by Nobel prizewinner Murray Gell Mann in which he talked not only about the beauty of mathematical equations used to describe certain physical concepts, but also about probability in physics.
Assignment

Lesson Comments
Despite all the excitement of this afternoon, Jared was uncharacteristically focused for this second lesson, and really followed the TED talk and asked many relevant questions.
