Lesson Topic
The Spread of Christianity
Lesson Outline
We began with the textbook where we read about early Christianity, spreading from Jerusalem to Antioch to Rome. We explored the journeys of Peter and Paul and their martyrdom and continued through Constantine, the founding (or re-naming) of Constantine and the construction of the immense cathedral of Hagia Sophia in 537 A. D. Then we went online and explored the same subjects, including imagery of Hagia Sophia in today's Istanbul, Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome and the excavated ruins of Antioch.

Lesson Comments
Hunter was attentive, His reading skills are improving although I doubt that he enjoys employing them yet. I enjoyed embellishing textbook and online reading with personal experience in visiting Rome, Antakya (Antioch) in present day Turkey and Aya Sofiya (Hagia Sophia) in Istanbul (now a museum.)
