We spent our first day together getting to know one another. Both Gabriela and Laina enjoyed painting stories in their journals to encourage emergent writing.
We counted & practiced adding using the hearts from our math shelf to practice 1-1 correspondence.
Our stories for the day were Dinosaurs Go To School and Dinosaurs Dance. The girls had fun following the directions and moving like the dinosaurs in Dinosaurs Dance. This was to encourage their listening, understanding, speaking, relating skills & gross motor development.
Gabriela & Laina practiced their fine motor control & creativity through tracing their names & having open-ended art.
They loved building with Legos & completing the puzzles to exercise their spatial awareness & knowledge of shapes and colors.
The last part of our morning was spent playing matching games with flashcards to cultivate their learning of numbers and counting.
