Analise reviewed the parts of her nonfiction book, "Blackbeard." She identified the table of contents, the glossary, the words in bold print, and the pictures with captions. She then wrote "four fun facts" about the story. She then read the next story in her reader, "Mack." After reading "Up a Tree," Analise answered multiple choice comprehension questions, and focused on the sound for "qu" and "long a," produced by adding a silent "e" to the end of a word. Analise read the Dolch words at the pre-primer level, the primer level, and the first grade level. Any words not recognized will be placed on a flashcard for easy review.
