Lesson Outline
Gabriela and Laina completed their "My Winter Senses" booklets. The sense of taste was represented by white pom-poms (marshmallows) on the cup of cocoa. The sense of smell was represented by sugar cinnammon sprinkled on a gingerbread boy and girl. The sense of touch was represented by felt mittens. I printed the words to our poem/song, "The Kiss Goes On," on sentence strips. The girls held pointers and with my help, pointed to each word as we sang the song. We then talked about "opposites" and had fun putting together two piece puzzles focusing on: wet/dry short/tall happy/sad fast/slow big/little on/off hot/cold inside/outside up/down young/old high/low behind/in front of I then read "Chicka Chicka 1-2-3." We counted to 30 and practiced writing a 1, 2, and 3.
