Lesson Topic
Letter O/ New Moves/ rhyming
Lesson Outline
The girls drew stories and wrote in their journals to practice their emergent writing and letter recognition. They explored the math shelf to encourage their 1-1 correspondence and number recognition.
We introduced a new transition song "On the Rug" to help strengthen their direction following and self-help skills.
At story time, we read " One Duck Stuck", a rhyming and number book. We learned our hello chant in which the girls learned how to say hello in different languages and then followed that up with music and movement. Laina and Gabriela had fun singing and dancing to " Boom Chicka Boom". These will encourage their listening/understanding, speaking, relating and gross motor development skills.
The girls both enjoyed spelling their names to familiar songs! For Laina we sang to the tune of " Bingo" and for Gabriela, we sang to the tune of " Ten Little Indians".
Today we dove into the letter "O" and brain stormed some words that start with that letter.
We ended our morning with the book "Leaping Leapfrogs" and sang our goodbye song.
