Lesson Outline
Today Gabriela and Laina started off writing in their journals and writing down the first letter sound they hear in the words. Gabriela was able to hear and write p for princess and pancakes, e for eating, w for waffles and b for bacon. Laina heard and wrote e for eating, p pancakes and b for bacon. Throughout the morning we continued working on sound/ letter recognition orally and matching to letters. Tomorrow we will add more words (beginning sounds) to our word wall. They also read "A Wocket in my Pocket" and created rhyming words with our bippity bippity boo chant and a wand. They really enjoy rhyming nonsense words.
We continued practicing 1 to 1 with numbers and counting/adding on.
They also practiced forming the letters using play dough and singing our writing chant.
Today we did our fruit squeeze science experiment. They had to first make a good guess as to which fruit they thought they could get juice from squeezing by hand. They charted it and tested it out. The chart is hanging in their room.
They ended the day painting and creating art.
