Latin Lesson 16 review / Leonardo da Vinci
Lesson Outline
Today in Social Studies, we began with a review of her Lesson 16 Latin vocabulary. We reviewed the Latin meanings and spelling. Next, we concluded our book, Who Was Leonardo da Vinci by Roberta Edwards. We read about his paintings of ladies. These included the Mona Lisa and Young Girl with Ermine. Additionally, his portrait of Ginerva de Benci is the only Leonardo da Vinci painting of his on display in the United States (National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.). His story concluded with his time in Amboise, France with King Francis I. He died on May 2, 1519. Baylie continued to write about da Vinci's obstacles in her flipbook. Today she was focusing on how his desires to use innovative techniques at times ruined his work.
