Flower Shaped S'more Pie Pop
Lesson Outline
Today in baking, Charlie made fun pie pops. He began by rolling out pie crusts before using flower shaped cookie cutters to cut flower shapes into the dough. Then, the shapes were arranged on a parchment-lined baking sheet. An egg was cracked, beaten, and lightly brushed onto the dough and a lollipop stick was gently pressed into each one. In the center of each flower, a square of chocolate and mini marshmallows were placed before being covered with another flower shaped piece of dough. The dough was pinched together and pressed with a fork to completely seal the edges which made it look like petals. They were baked in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. While waiting, we read The Marshmallow Incident by Judi Barrett.
