AP Environmental Science:
Water aquifer filter Lab./ Population Ecology -
Chase finished collecting observations of her water aquifer filter lab. The ‘polluted‘ water started as an ugly greenish black liquid with extensive particulate. The sample that was collected after the filter system was used was clean and appeared clean. We discussed the methods a municipal water treatment plant would use to assure the water is safe for household use. We then started the next unit on Populations. Chase was tested on the organization of life. I then lectured on niches and habitat. We compared and contrasted R and K populations, listing the advantages and disadvantages. Chase was tasked with figuring out how each strategy benefits the community. We then compared a species niche, a population niche, and a community niche.
Homework: complete the questions at the end of module 20 and in chapter 6 of the text.
