Energy and cars -
Will reviewed how energy is either stored or converted. We walked around the school grounds, and he identified where energy was actively being stored or converted. We also reviewed how momentum is manifest in his daily life, especially while driving. We then examined how energy enters and moves through the car system. We then discussed how humans use oil (stored energy) and convert it into gasoline to use in his car. We watched an animation of a combustion engine, to see how energy is transformed from chemical, stored energy, to kinetic energy in the movement of the car.
