Organizing a paragraph

Bobby and I reviewed more transition words that can connect separate sentences and then did a guided paragraph writing exercise. I prepared a prompt or statement about the Rot and Ruin reading that required that Bobby respond in an organized paragraph. I showed Bobby how to devise a topic sentence from the prompt, and then we prepared an outline for the responsive paragraph. Next, we together drafted sentences based on the outline to form a unified responsive paragraph. Last, we edited the writing. At this point in the guided exercise, I supplied a lot of the structure and diction. But my plan is to practice this exercise almost daily to enable Bobby to contribute more each day. The writing exercise will tie into the literature we are reading. Bobby is up to page 167 in the book and for homework I assigned reading Ch 21.
