This morning Morgan practiced writing her list 25 spelling and vocabulary words in her notebook. In her spelling text, she completed a tricky activity in which she had to decode the spelling words to complete the sentence by writing the letter of the alphabet the comes before each letter in the code. This activity practiced commonly mistaken words such as threw for through. She also used list words to fill in the blanks of 7 phrases. Additionally, she practiced pronouncing and spelling different and surprise. We finished up The Rough-Face Girl scrapbook activity in which she finished writing the plot. We reviewed for spelling and grammar. For grammar practice, we read a booklet entitled, Now and Then, to practice past-tense verbs. We read about regular verbs like danced and baked, as well as irregular verbs like slept and knew. We read through the booklet and changed targeted verbs to past tense.
