AP Environmental Science:
Aquaponics-
Chase and I added a new fish, and terrestrial plants to her new aqua-terrarium. We added the Plecko fish, which is an algae eater, and will help keep the habitat clean, and not interfere with the beta fish (Fishy). We then planted some philodendron plants to the cover of the aquaponics system, which will convert the ammonia , nitrates and nitrites into usable nitrogen for the fish. This part of the project provided an opportunity to apply what we discussed in our last class; the nitrogen cycle. We used the remainder of the class to work through sample APES test questions.
