FIELD LAB -
Chase continued her participation in the field lab by working with a mark recapture study of wild dolphins in Palm Beach. She experienced the citizen scientist program, which collects data aboard a local tour boat. She was in charge of keeping the written log, and making sure all data was collected during the two encounters. After the trip, she returned to the lab and downloaded the photos from both cameras, and entered the data from the written log, into the computer database. We discussed how field work and data collection can be tedious, and very exhausting, but the result is great. We examined some of the research projects, the data she collected will enhance. Chase was shown some of the conservation processes that depend on research such as this project.
