Lesson Outline
— Conclude discussion of FATHERS AND SONS, with particular attention to development of characters throughout the book and effectiveness of descriptive passages (similar to those characteristic of AP English Lit. exams)
— In preparation for reading of Albert Camus' THE STRANGER, perform pre-readimg activity: provide student with list of ten statements (of morality, ethics and metaphysical concerns); student will have to indicate whether he agrees or disagrees with these statements; student will then have to write a brief position paper about one of these statements (500 words). Student will have to do the same activities after reading Camus' novel, which will allow us to observe if the novel has changed his views on these topics.
