Oliver completed the Stanford Achievement Practice Test. He did the language arts practice questions and we went over answers. We discussed test taking strategies. I introduced the week's spelling words. In grammar, Oliver corrected grammatical errors in a paragraph and we continued with subject verb agreement. Oliver began reading an excerpt from "Backwoods Boy," by Freedman. We discussed the difference between a main idea and a topic. As he read, Oliver determined main ideas of the excerpt. We read a chapter in "Legend."
For homework, Oliver should review spelling words and read a chapter in "Legend."
