Lesson Outline
The session began with a review of closed syllables and closed syllable exceptions. The concept of a vowel consonant e exception was introduced. Charlie read the word cards for review of previously taught concepts and then read the word cards for step 4.4. He charted all of the words correctly. The sentences that were presented were accurately read. Prior to the written portion of the lesson Charlie practiced spelling words using the syllable cards. Charlie identified the dictated sounds and correctly spelled all of the real and nonsense words. The only sight word he misspelled was promise. A word card for promise will be used to practice spelling this word. For the sentence dictation, Charlie misspelled shrimp and salad. Charlie worked diligently today.
