Sam continued to take notes on major compromises reached during the Constitutional Convention, including the indirect election of the president through the electoral college. I explained how a candidate can lose the popular vote and still be elected. We next discussed the ratification process and the role of the Federalist Papers in encouraging ratification. Sam's homework is to read pages 83-85 and to answer questions 1 -4 on page 85. Sam began the assignment in class, and I assisted her in formulating some responses related to the Great Compromise.
