We began by going over Abby’s homework. She had written a 5 sentence summary of Chapter 1 of her short story “Presque Mort”. With just a couple minor grammar errors, Abby did a great job. We then went outside and
Abby made entries into her journal. The journal is written exclusively in French. She discussed, the date, the weather, her afterschool activies and her plans for the weekend. Her grammar was good and she needed help with only a few vocabulary words. Again - a very good job. We returned to her room and Abby read chapter 2 of “Presque Mort”, in French. I asked questions, in French and she answered. She added a couple vocabulary words to her word bank and then wrote a summary of the chapter. She did a great job.
