Constitutiion Structure/Bill of Rights
Lesson Outline
Sam spent most of the session working on her exam on the Declaration and the history leading up to 1776. Her homework on the structure of the Constitution was handed in timely and showed a good understanding. We addressed her response on the procedure for amending the Constitution and then studied the Preamble. Sam took notes on the purpose and meaning of phrases in the Preamble such as to "form a more perfect union" and to "provide for the general welfare". For homework, I assigned reading pages 92 -95 in the text and answering questions on constitutional checks on the powers of Congress.
