Natalie read through Act IV (vi),page 87 , of Hamlet and answered questions 3 & 4 on the study guide. I discussed the parallel circumstances of Hamlet, Laertes, and Young Fortinbras, and explained the use of a dramatic foil. For homework, Natalie is to write a one page plot summary and a character analysis of one character. In connection with the assignment , I reviewed the different character traits of Hamlet, Laertes and Young Fortinbras as evidenced by their actions in response to their parallel circumstances.
