Vlad and I reviewed the vocabulary homework that he did. He did fabulously! We then watched Chimimana Adiche's TED Talk, "Danger of a Single Story". I asked Vlad to take detailed notes for a written analysis that he will do afterward. He did not take many notes and during our discussion after viewing, I felt that he missed many of the details, which led to missing part of her important message. During our second session, we watched it again and I printed out the text this time for him to follow along, take notes on, and refer to afterward while writing. Vlad and I are going to work on his reading for details and implicit meaning. I believe this is critical to help him with all of his subjects. I would like Vlad to create an outline for his analysis for tomorrow and then he will write the analysis over the weekend.
