Nicholas worked on page 95 in his Go Math workbook. He retrieved the page out of his bookbag and I checked to see that he had written it down correctly in his agenda as well. The practice today focused on using addition to check subtraction. Nicholas completed his assignment which started with subtraction problems. Nicholas had to then write the correct answer to the problems, using addition to do so. He demonstrated good comprehension and was able to apply skills and concepts correctly in accordance with expectations. He also correctly selected the addition sentences, in multiple choice format, when checking subtraction problems, demonstrating good integration and synthesis of material. Nicholas answered a word problem by bubbling in the correct answer to the problem. We finished up the day playing math games on the computer to reinforce and consolidate gains.
