I had Olivia work on a review sheet in order to reinforce lessons from last week.
After introducing the term frequency and defining it in terms of the number of vibrations per unit of time, we discussed the terms cycles per second, vibrations per second and Hertz. Prefixes were introduced to represent thousands, millions and billions, which are useful terms when discussing waves. I introduced the terms speed and velocity in terms of waves and we spoke about the difference between the terms.
The speed of sound in different media was introduced and a discussion of the reasons for the difference in terms of molecular mass/volume and temperature.
