Lesson Topic
Lobbying/ Review of Judiciary
Lesson Outline
We reviewed Sam's corrections to her exam on lobbying and made notes on the role of the First Amendment in protecting interest groups and lobbyists. I have asked Sam to review the case summary I provided on the Citizens United case as this decision is so critical and timely and to rewrite her response to the exam question asking for the Court's holding. As Sam has requested a review of the judiciary and of the most recent chapter on federalism, I have prepared outlines that require her to focus on certain pages in the text and then to complete the outline questions. I will work with Sam on completing these exercises and address all of her concerns or questions as she works through each portion of each exercise. Sam indicated this process was very helpful .Today ,Sam began the outline exercise on the federal judiciary and asked questions when she encountered an area where she was uncertain. I reviewed with her the homework on the outline on state's rights I provided last week, and we added information and made any corrections where necessary. For homework, I assigned completion of the outline questions on the judiciary and rewriting her exam response about the Citizens United holding.
