Lesson Topic
Convex lenses
Lesson Outline
Using the whiteboard lens set and the laser light pointers ordered, we were able to show that convex lenses will converge light to a point, called the focal point. The point lies on a line passing through the principle axis of the lens. We were able to see that the focal length was shorter for thicker lenses and longer for thinner lenses. We could see the refraction as the light passed through the lens and was able to copy the rays as they entered the lens at oblique angles and showed the angle of incidence and angle of refraction being equal.

Lesson Comments
Oliva, was as usual, very attentive. We discussed uses for the lenses in vision correction which lead her to ask questions regarding the eye and disorders-very interesting
