Jonathan and I worked on solving algebraic equations with variables on both sides of the equation. He has become more confident and capable of solving equations.

Scientific Notation – We worked on converting numbers to scientific notation then we multiplied and divided numbers in scientific notation.

We practiced adding and subtracting monomials. Then we combined like terms. We practiced adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing exponents.

Algebraic Expressions and Equations – We practiced solving 1-step algebraic equations. Then we discovered the Division and Multiplication Properties of Equality are used to solve equations involving multiplication and division no matter what type of numbers they contain: integers, decimals, fractions, etc. Then we worked on simplifying equations with fractions or decimals for coefficients.
