Jason and I continue to learn more and more about the game of baseball.
Today we learned the different positions on the field.
We then took turns hitting and running the bases.
We finished with a discussion about what we learned.
Jason completed activities pertaining to where he lives on a world map. He learned about the compass rose. He located The District of Columbia and the states of Alaska and Rhode Island on a map. He colored the flags associated with these places.
Today we reviewed our basic list of colors/shades including: green, red, blue, yellow, white, black. Per request, we discussed purple as well.
We then made a colored drawing of a blue house with a red window. Outside the house were some purple flowers and a green yard.
Later we played I spy. We took turns and specified whose turn it was by saying the phrase I spy in Spanish.
At the end of class, we reviewed all our colors to keep provide repetition.

As a note, Jason joined us during Libby's session. So, this may have served as more of a review for him while it was relatively new material for Libby.
Having another student present, added a fun element to some of the games that we played and encouraged Libby and Jason in some unique ways.
Interactive Calendar Vocabulary Puzzle Sentences Christopher Columbus Floating Experiment
Lesson Outline
Jason completed his interactive calendar. He read and discussed his vocabulary words. He completed his Fall puzzle sentence of the day. He learned how to make a boat out of aluminum foil, and predicted how many paper clips it would take to sink his boat. He completed several activities pertaining to Christopher Columbus.
Today's lesson focused on recognizing that there are different ways to add 2-digit numbers and that certain strategies may be better for certain problems. Jason used the interactive component from the online textbook to complete the Solve & Share problem and the student practice problems. Then, he answered the even questions in his textbook and solved the quick assessment question correctly.
Jason and I added 5 new colors to his knowledge bank. We added purple, pink, grey, brown, and orange.
He used the new colors as we worked to draw a colored picture. He used the new colors on my turns of playing I spy.
However, on his turns of the game, he tended to favor the colors that we had established during earlier sessions.
Jason was able to use the phrase my turn appropriately during class.
We are helping Jason to remember the word "me" at the start of that phrase in Spanish.

Lesson Comments
Jason started the class with good energy.
We went outside during our lesson to keep that positive energy flowing. But, once back inside he started to get sleepy. I had to switch activities and prompt him repeatedly to not sleep in class.
