Jason worked on a puppet play based on The Monkey and The Lion. He worked on a song based on The Monkey and The Lion. We worked on a Monkey and Lion mask.
Jason began with a daily review on completing addition and subtraction fact families, counting coins, completing number patterns, number comparison, and adding 3 addends. Today's lesson practiced using subtraction strategies. Jason was encouraged to recognize the different ways to subtract 2-digit numbers and that certain strategies are more suitable to solve a problem than others.
Jason and I worked together to navigate from his room to the playground.
We did so using the direction words to which he was introduced yesterday. He did a good job of retaining some of the information.
Once outside Jason got to determine if we raced around the equipment by going to the left or to the right.
Today, he was feeling tired during our session. So, we only pretended to run around the equipment when he would choose the direction in Spanish.
He requested that we play a round of I spy. So, we did. He continues to be able to navigate the game well with only a small reminder of the phrases. He remembered the phrase my turn all on his own. Also of note, he used the phrase Bathroom please all on his own today as well. And, needed no prompting.
